we’re introducing「mug dealer」 through a series of capsules and creative provocations - meant to break the mug free from mere function and elevate it into an object of design, expression, and desire.

studio utomo pyk - the duo behind「mug dealer」makes things that sit somewhere between sculpture and sarcasm, function and gesture. these mugs bulge, slant, swell, and sometimes barely sit flat on your table. and that’s the point.

このプロジェクトを手がけるのは、東京を拠点とする2人組 Studio Utomo Pyk。マグディーラーの作品は、彫刻と皮肉、機能のあいだに漂っているような違和感が持ち味。ふくらみ、傾き、ゆがみ、時にまっすぐ立つことすらままならない—それが彼らの作品の魅力です。
